On September 28, 2026, Knights Kevin Rieth and Greg Assmus provided transportation for Fr. Vitalis and Fr. Goodluck to Corpus Commons, the only day-care shelter in the Treasure Valley. Executive Director Jessica Abbott and Board Member of Corpus Commons Paul Hatab provided a founding and timeline history of Corpus Commons for the visiting priests. Jessica and Paul explained that roughly 300 homeless guests receive their mail at Corpus Commons and that about 150 guests are served meals every day, 7 days/week. The tour showcased the tight quarters for the distribution and sorting of clothing, hygiene supplies, and blankets. Corpus Commons has a meager kitchen that can provide food that doesn’t require cooking, however, cooked food can be served or reheated before serving. Shower and laundry services are also provided at the shelter and about 10 cots under shelter can be used for sleep during the day. Those guests working at night often use the day cots for sleep. The priests were humbled and inspired by the work of those who work and volunteer at Corpus Commons.
